Inquiry

At last week's assembly all of our Zero Heroes stood up and had their photo taken. These are the children who have managed to have NO RUBBISH - even if it was just for one day. Look at them all!
Thank you so much to parents who are reducing throw away packaging in lunch boxes. Friday is our competition day, but let's try to be Zero Heroes as often as we can, because it usually means our snacks and lunches are much healthier too!

Proud as punch!

We were really proud of our grade 1/2 speakers at assembly. They were amazing!

Bluearth

This week we had our visiting Bluearth Coach, Matt, back to teach us some more games and skills. We learnt some new games called Colour Tag, Chase the Ball and Hero. They helped us to develop skills in teamwork and working together to figure out strategies.

Colour tag
Children were in four colour groups and carried a beanbag to show their team. One team had to try to tag the people in the other teams. If you were tagged, you had to sit down with the beanbag on your head and your hand up. People from your team could rescue you by tagging your hand. Teams had to figure out a strategy to catch everyone else.

Chase the Ball
In teams of five, four children stood at a cone in the shape of a square while a fifth person had to run around them. The runner had to try to run a lap of the other players before the ball could be thrown all the way around.

Hero

This game was similar to another game we know called Run the Gauntlet. One team had to complete a relay type run across the court, while the other team had to try to hit them with a Gatorskin ball. If they were hit, they had to hop. If they were hit again, they had to crawl. If they were hit a third time, they had to sit with a hand up until someone from their team rescued them.

Ask your child what their favourite game was!

Special responsibilites

We will be watching with interest as four of our 1/2 children speak at assembly tomorrow.

These two superstars are asking for donations of plastic bags for our 'Is Plastic Fantastic?' inquiry. We are going to donate the bags to the Lara Community Centre where they will be made into blankets and pillows for homeless people. Maria from the Community Centre is going to come and show us how it's done on Monday, June 26th, and we'll all be involved.

These two girls are from the Junior School Council. They will be talking about the JSC's first fundraiser for the year. It is Mythical and Magical Day and is taking place on June 22nd. The JSC is raising money for the 'Save the Children Foundation'. Come along dressed as anything mythical or magical!

Thanks for making us proud!
