Walkathon

Wow! What an amazing end to the term! Along with the rest of the school, grade 1/2s wore crazy socks and we strutted our stuff around the streets of Lara with our Buddies.

When we came back, we had sausages and snacks, and then had some fun participating in a range of activities organised by house captains. The activities were: guess-the-lollies-in-the-jar, horseshoe toss, obstacle course, ping pong ball target throw, tug-of-war and quoits. There was a real carnival atmosphere with the band playing all our favourite hits throughout the afternoon. It was wonderful to see so many parents joining in for the walk and the fun!

Special thanks for all of their planning goes to our very own Mrs Newman, and Mrs Whelan. Enormous thanks also go to their helpers: Kerry, Amanda, Patricia and Lyndal. They were kept very busy manning the roads and cooking several hundred snags! What an effort! We can't wait to hear how much money was raised, but a price cannot be put on the amazing time we had!

Have a safe and happy holiday, everyone!

1/2J's Assembly Performance

1/2J and our buddy grade, 5/6C, were the first assembly performance of the year. With Mrs Cooper's fabulous script, cool music choices, amazing choreography and Lara Primary School's best kept secret (our Barbie Buddies!); it was a show to remember! Special, special, special thanks to parents, particularly Nev and Liss, who outfitted our children so spectacularly. Thanks also to Jim, who took some amazing photos to share with us. :)

Even rehearsals were fun:

Here we are in our costumes. How awesome do we look?

Our dances were a huge success, and let's give three big cheers to our brave soldiers who soldiered on when their music didn't work!
